We are currently seeking a Pension and Benefits Accountant to coordinate the Pension and Benefits Accounting process worldwide to include: Pension Plans, Defined Contribution Plans, Non Qualified Plans, ‘General Employee Benefits (GEB), and other benefit programs. Duties Include: •Provide recommendations on complex accounting issues to senior management •Provide guidance and support as appropriate to other functions in the company such as HR, F&P, and Treasury, as well as other 3rd party service providers. •Provide the required External reporting disclosures (foot notes) compliant w. HKAS (Hong Kong Accounting Standard) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) by working with the external reporting team in HK. •Evaluate and recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures that result in process improvements and efficiencies. •Maintains the highest degree of integrity, professionalism, and leadership •Actively participates in problem identification and resolution and coordinates resolutions between appropriate parties •Provides analytical support and analysis for various projects •Coordinates, produces and updates procedure manual as necessary •Maintains a pleasant, professional attitude in order to facilitate positive and productive interactions with coworkers •Prepares quarterly and Annual Foot Note disclosures on Pension and benefits as required by HKAS/IFRS •Prepares, processes, and communicates US Pension and Benefits process •Coordinates Pension and Benefits process on a WW basis and acts as primary contact to senior management (Treasury, HR, Accounting) •Keeps Management aware of any issues impacting the financial impact resulting from Pension and Benefits policy, or changes to external requirements - sizes impacts and recommends a course of action for any given accounting period •Ensures the accuracy of the company accounts through analysis, reconciliation, and research •Prepares and/or reviews all journal entries monthly (minimal) •Reviews account reconciliations monthly (minimal)
Requirements: •A Bachelor's degree is required •Ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of public accounting and 3-5 years of general accounting experience •Prior supervisory experience in a financial accounting role is beneficial but not required •Certified Public Accountant or CPA candidate with Big 4 experience •3-5 year minimum accounting experience in Pension and Benefits arena •Excellent oral and written communication abilities •Strong interpersonal skills •Strong problem solving and analytical skills •Extensive organizational ability with an excellent attention to details •Results oriented and focused on professional development •Ability to write reports and business correspondence •Ability to manipulate databases and export reports •Must be a self starter and a quick learner who can work with minimal supervision •Exposure to foreign operations will be beneficial •Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. •Experience with Hyperion software preferred •SAP experience is definitively a plus
