Senior Software Engineer Generalist Role
Do you want to help build a great company and product?
BlueStripe Software (www.bluestripesoftware.com) is a funded enterprise systems management startup looking for senior software engineers with broad backgrounds.
At this phase of our company, your primary tasks will be defining product architecture and design, writing solid code, testing it, and tuning its performance. But we're a startup, so you'll be wearing lots of other hats, too. Depending on your background and interests, you might work on product definition plans, assist with partnering activities, help ramp up our technical field force, throw together a quick user interface, or write our technical documentation.
You must have experience shipping software products for sale or general use - not in-house applications. We write code in C and Java, so you need to be experienced in both of those. You must have experience coding multi-threaded and distributed systems. Bonus points for any systems management experience. Finally, you'll need to have completed a BS in Computer Science.

The Problem
Virtualization brings many benefits to an organization, including elimination of the need for one to one mapping of software to a physical server. The unfortunate consequence of this change is that it breaks the existing systems management tools and processes needed to ensure high performance and availability of applications. Hardware resources that once were solely dedicated and static are now virtual and able to share resource with multiple applications. The problem of management complexity is further compounded by the fact that parts of the application environment will be virtual, while other tiers will be physical.
The Product
BlueStripe is dedicated to bringing world class application management to virtual platform environments. BlueStripe FactFinder enables IT staff to manage performance of applications by fact versus conjecture when virtualization is involved. We accomplish this with software that provides the real map of transactional applications, their connections and dependencies, physical and virtual, as well as measures the health and performance of the flow of transactions through the IT infrastructure.
