Description:
Our client is looking for a Software Engineer. This position will assist in implementation of a web user interface using Ruby on Rails, create a compelling user experience with the appropriate application of Ajax and other web 2.0 technologies, and implement integration of the web application with backend processes, unit-test, as well as systems integration.
Requirements:
• 4+ years of experience in creating web applications • Experience in Ruby on Rails, or strong experience in JSP/servlets with a proven passion to learn Ruby on Rails • User interface design • Experience with usability testing (paper prototyping). The ideal candidate will take a role as a “usability advocate” in the team • Very strong Linux experience • Creative, industrious, self-managed • Excelled while working in small, product-focused teams • Experience with one or more Ajax Javascript libraries • Strong understanding of CSS and applying stylesheets to create sophisticated layouts • Experience with multiple web frameworks • Mastery of one or more programming languages
Desired Knowledge/Skills:
A candidate with a mix of the following experiences will be at an advantage: • Internationalization • Flex or other RIA framework • Graphics design
