Description:
Senior Software Engineer We are currently seeking an experienced Software Engineer for the continuing development of our client’s complex optical imaging instruments. This position will offer this incumbent the opportunity to join a software team that is developing real-time instrument control, multithreaded image processing, image analysis, 2D & 3D graphics software, and management of imaging data on a distributed database network. This is a dynamic and fast-paced environment which requires a high degree of self motivation and entrepreneurial attitude. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Develop and expand Managed C++ / WinForms presentation layer
- Develop and expand Native C++ hardware and image processing code
- Apply principles of database normalization as DB features added or enhanced
- Ability to work with code that uses Win32 API
- Ability to write and effectively troubleshoot multithreaded code
- Develop technical specifications based on functional descriptions from marketing, customers, and engineering staff
- Make accurate effort estimates and work to schedule
- Implement new features or enhance existing functionality following the basic tenets of OO design
- Work proactively to identify and accomplish areas for improvement in existing software
- Deliver robust code to SQA that minimally has been subjected to all use cases in specification
- Coordinate with SQA to ensure features and defects accurately tracked in bug-tracking software
- Support manufacturing and field service with troubleshooting and instructions
- Work with contractors to integrate application functionality
- Keep technically current, looking for ways to leverage new development technologies in our applications Requirements:
- 5+ years professional C++ development experience
- Four year college degree - BSEE, CSC, or equivalent
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills
- Experience in a production software delivery environment
Experience considered a plus:
- Medical instrument software development, including DICOM
- Optical instrument software
- Image or signal processing
- Ability to effectively work on more than one track in the same time period
- Ability to assume technical leadership role
