Production Supervisor/Manager

We are currently seeking an energetic individual to fulfill the role of Production Supervisor/Manager. The ideal incumbent must be comfortable with highly-engineered products and like working in a growth-stage environment.

The position is responsible for the overall operation of the Filter Shop, where the Company’s patented product is fabricated. Knowledge of line set ups in a hand assembly, automated, small batch, make-to-order/make-to-stock environment is required. An ideal candidate would have an understanding of glue applications, heat sealing, ultrasonic welding, and steel rule die cutting or converting operations. Familiarity with custom, automated processing equipment is highly desirable. To be successful, the Production Manager must have the ability to change and react quickly, be being detailed oriented, a problem solver, and self motivated.

Duties Include: Develops and manages production schedules to fulfill current and forecasted orders for manufactured products. Plans and schedules production work for multi-shift workforce, including inventory control, daily production start ups, work in process, and acceptance testing. Recognizes and solves problems affecting production, including schedules, staff, quality, order of production line, and equipment maintenance. Responsible for training and supervising employees. Responsible for collecting and publishing production metrics, measuring progress by established standards of performance Regular interaction with engineering personnel for production process optimization and new product introductions. Must support design and implementation of the company's Lean manufacturing initiatives. Reports to senior operations executive.

Qualifications: 1-3 years experience in a manufacturing engineering role is preferred. Supervisory experience is required.
Manufacturing Engineering Degree strongly preferred. Four-year degree in technical field required. Excellent problem diagnostic and resolution skills. Demonstrative Lean manufacturing experience, preferably at the manufacturing cell level. Must be a self-starter, team and goal oriented and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
